Home Report

Part product, part marketing, the Nest Energy Report was conceived as a way to reinforce the value of the Nest Thermostat long after purchase. How do we keep giving customers something useful — and remind them how much they’re saving, and how much they like you — as long as they have your product on their wall?

Once our product portfolio expanded beyond thermostats, we renamed it to the Nest Home Report, and incorporated data from all our products and services. The Home Report turned into a valuable tool for customer engagement as well as up-sells and cross-sells.

The Nesty awards became another way to engage our community: a call for the best Nest Cam clips resulted in a constant stream of user-generated content for our social channels, culminating with an award ceremony recapping the best clips of the year.
